Configure auto import folder for your ongame poker client

Setting up holdem manager for a certain ongame skin is not that hard. The ongame poker client automatically stores all your played poker hands. All you need to do is tell holdem manager where it needs to look for the hands:
  • Find your hand history folder:
Played poker hands are stored in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\P5\SKIN\handhistory where
USERNAME is your windows username and
SKIN is the name of your ongame poker room.
  • Get Holdem manager version 1.09 or higher from the holdem manager beta release forum:
The new ongame poker client p5 is supported from that version onwards.
  • Configure the hand history folder as an auto import folder in holdem manager:
Go to the import tab and click on 'click here to add auto import folder'
Click on 'Add Folder' and browser to the handhistory folder of your ongame skin
Holdem manager auto import folder
A more detailed guide can be found at our holdem manager configuration page.

Configure table manager to detect ongame tables

holdem manager table finder As soon as you start importing your hands into holdem manager, the table manager will pop up. You need to configure the table manager so that it automatically finds the ongame tables from your ongame skin:
  • Open one table of you ongame skin
  • Open Table > Table Finder from the menu
  • Select the table that is currently open
  • Drag the red cross to the selected table
  • The table finder will prompt you to autodetect opened tables from that poker client. Select 'yes'.
For betsafe, the auto-detection of new tables as described above is not working properly.

The problem with the hud for betsafe is simply explained because there is a poker room on the prima network with the same client name. Holdem manager has a configuration file where it stores the poker clients that the hud has to inspect in orde to auto detect new tables. As a default, holdem manager has a reference to the prima skin in the configuration file. This reference is in conflict with the betsafe skin. You will have to manually change something to this configuration file if you want to setup the hud for betsafe:
  • Close down Holdem Manager and the Table Manager.
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder and open the ExeNames.txt file with Notepad.
  • Scroll until you see the following line: 8,Poker.exe. This is the poker client on the prima network
  • Replace this line by changing the 8 to a 10 until it looks like this: 10,Poker.exe. The 10 stands for the ongame network.
  • Scroll to the bottom and if there is another 10,Poker.exe line then delete this line.
  • Click on File > Save.
  • Restart Holdem Manager and it should now pick up the tables automatically.

Configure hud for ongame layout

Holdem manager comes with a default hud layout. This standard hud contains some general statistics. This default hud is already usefull the way it is, but adding more stats can give you an even higher edge on your opponents.

You can add or remove some statistics until the hud perfectly suits your needs. There are some stats that we believe are very usefull, but that are not included in the default hud. Therefor, we have provided a hud layout that we use at the ongame network. You can just download the configuration file and import the hud settings in holdem manager:
  • Click to download the ongame hud configuration file.
  • Launch Holdem Manager. If it is already running, close down Table Manager: otherwise it may overwrite your new settings.
  • Navigate to HUD Options > Player Preferences. The Player Preferences dialog should pop up.
  • Click on the Import button up top and choose the ongamebonus.xml file you have downloaded in the first step.
  • Click on Apply then OK
Note that you can still adjust the location of the different stats. Just hold down the right mouse button and drag the stats to the preferred location on the table.

Holdem manager performance bug

We have noticed that the ongame poker client uses a huge amount of CPU in combination with the holdem manager hud.

The underlying problem has something to do with the hud that needs to detect the visible tables. When the tables are popping up, the interaction of the hud with the poker client causes the poker client to run very unperformant.

This cpu hog can be avoided by unchecking the option 'Pop table on Action' in the poker client settings, as shown in the screenshot.

Of course, this is just a workaround for this cpu bug, not a solution. It should be fixed by ongame as soon as possible.
