Purpose: Mine poker hands on the ongame network

In September 2009, a new ongame tool called handbooster was released. As the name suggest, it is a software to boost the number of hand in your poker database. This hand mining tool is compatible with both holdem manager as with pokertracker and can mine cash games on the ongame network. The tool is originally build for no-limit, but it also supports pot limit and limit holdem. It should also work for omaha.

Easy Install and setup

The installation and setup of this mining tool is straightforward and easy:

• Download the zip package from the handbooster website.
• Extract the zip to the folder where you want to keep the handbooster software. You do not need to install anything after this.
• Run the executable to start the handbooster software. On this first run, you will be asked to select a folder where you want to store your mined hands.
• Add the folder where you stored the hands to the import folders of holdem manager or pokertracker.. done!

After these steps, all tables that you open will be automatically mined and the hands will be stored in your poker database.

Handbooster free trial

On the first run of the handbooster software, you will be asked to enter your email adress. When you have entered this, an email containing a password will be send to the adress you have filled in. This password will unlock the software and you can try it for 5 days. You can mine hands from limits up to $1/$2 with this free trial version.

Historical data mining

When you open a table from an ongame poker room, handbooster will automatically detect it and the mining software starts to retrieve hands from this table. It retrieves the hands from the net by looking at the history from the tables that you have opened. All hands that can be found, up to the very first one that was played at that table, will be stored in the folder you have selected. This is what handbooster calls their historical datamining feature.

When historical mining has finished (Handbooster has reached the first hand played at the table), it will change into normal mining mode. Every minute Handbooster checks for new hands played and will save each hand into your selected output folder.

Fast mining

When we first tried out the software, we were amazed about the amount of hand that where mined on the startup of the software. After only 1 minute we had around 100 hands.. only from 1 table. Because of the historical dataming approach, handbooster could speed up the datamining process to a very fast way of getting many hands.

Mining after table closes

Another advantage of mining the ongame hands by looking at the net, is that it makes the mining process independant of the ongame client. Once datamining has started for a particular table, handbooster works independently of the table and it will remain mining even if you close the table or the entire poker client.

Mine 8 tables simultaneously

The software currently supports 8 simultaneous tables. While you might think this is not much, we believe it is enough. The hands are mined very fast and backwards in time. After a minute, you could already have more than 500 hands from one table.

Pricing

The handbooster mining software is available in two formulas:

• Mine hands up to $1/$2 no-limit: available for $10 per month (subscription format) or $15 per month (one time license).
• Mine all no-limit hands: available for $20 per month (subscription format) or $30 per month (one time license).
